HISTORY
The Rwanda Chamber of Tourism (RCOT) is an umbrella organization representing Rwanda’s private-sector tourism and hospitality industry. Established in 2006 under the Private Sector Federation (PSF), RCOT was created to strengthen the private sector’s contribution to tourism development by providing a platform for businesses to address shared challenges, access opportunities, engage with government, and contribute to policies affecting the sector. Through advocacy, capacity building, business development, communication, and stakeholder engagement, RCOT works to support a strong, competitive, and sustainable tourism industry in Rwanda.
RCOT brings together seven professional associations, each representing a specific area of the tourism and hospitality industry. These include the Rwanda Hospitality Association (RHA), Rwanda Tours and Travel Association (RTTA), Rwanda Safari Guides Association (RSGA), Rwanda Association of Travel Agencies (RATA), Rwanda Hospitality and Tourism Educators Association (RHTEA), Rwanda Community Tourism Association (RCTA), and the Rwanda Association of Professional Conference Organizers (RAPCO). Through these associations, RCOT provides a coordinated platform for representing the diverse interests of tourism businesses and professionals while promoting collaboration and growth across the sector.

Building pertinent synergies and enhancing networks between business actors with stakeholders from public, private and development partners for a common goal of creating and promoting business opportunities in the tourism and hospitality space.
Investing in the right staff, processes, and resources to deliver better services.
