Kigali, Rwanda – September 27, 2024 – The Rwanda Chamber of Tourism is excited to announce its celebration of World Tourism Day 2024, themed “Celebrating Sustainable Growth in Rwanda’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry.” This special event will take place at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village on Friday, September 27, 2024, and aligns with the global theme set by the UN, “Tourism and Peace“
As a pivotal day in the global tourism calendar, this event will focus on the remarkable progress made in Rwanda’s tourism sector, which has been a driving force for sustainable economic growth. The celebration will bring together industry experts, thought leaders, and government representatives, who will discuss Rwanda’s commitment to sustainable development, the empowerment of women and youth, and the positive impact on communities across the country.
Key highlights of the event include:
- Rwanda Development Board Updates: A briefing on the latest trends and advancements in the tourism industry by the Chief Tourism Officer.
- Introduction of the KATAZA Project by I&M Bank: A new funding initiative to support businesses in the tourism industry.
- Panel discussion Prominent individuals from the sector will give insights on entrepreneurship amongst youth and women in tourism and hospitality.
